It’s our response to the international Convention on Biological Diversity and led to the most comprehensive analysis ever undertaken in the UK that identified our threatened wildlife and habitats. Some of our tones are on there which makes them even more special!

And some landmarks…

2009 was the Year of the Gorilla. It also marked the bicentenary of Charles Darwin’s birth (12th February) and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his work, On the Origin of Species (24th November).

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity. Organised by the United Nations, it’s a celebration of life on earth and of the value of biodiversity to everyone.
